How long do I need to wait after corrective jaw surgery before I can water ski?

Q:

Hi. I had a corrective jaw surgery 2 and a half months ago. I am planning to go on a water skiing trip this weekend but I am not sure if that is a good idea. If you can help me out with that, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Terrance,

This is  a question best addressed to your Jaw Surgeon. They know your surgery, medical history & present clinical course. Consider giving them a call to address your concerns. Best,

Gary Culbertson, MD, FACS

A:

Your surgeon is the best person to ask. He performed the surgery and understands the healing best.  Good lick.
