Can a raised scar under my eye be helped?

Q:

I have a Y shaped scar under my eye from an accident. I had 10 stitches and it healed well, but now it looks like I constantly have a bag under just one eye. Can this be helped?

A:

Scars get better with time. Assuming you have given it enough time for the scar to resolve, and you still have these issues, then an examination of the scar to evaluate the reason for that particular appearance then a plan for scar revision and possibly laser resurfacing will improve on the scar
