Will a tummy tuck improve risk of heart problems?

Q:

Since excess belly fat is associated with heart and other health problems, will a tummy tuck reduce a persons risk of developing these ailments? Thank you!

A:

This is a great question. Studies have not found Tummy Tucks to reduce the risk of Heart Problems though it does seem to make sense. Risks for heart disease have been shown to be directly correlated with hereditary, other medical conditions, environmental/ social/ dietary influences, etc.

Best,
