Will Botox injections to the forehead exacerbate my photophobia condition?

Q:

I have photophobia and it causes me to squint in most indoor light.  My forehead gets sore from it.  I had Botox a few years back which gave me relief of the scrunching but my photophobia got really bad. I had to wear dark sunglasses indoors.  If I continue to get Botox injections in the forehead area will it exacerbate the photophobia condition?

A:

It would be best to know the cause of your photophobia.  Yes, Botox as you discovered will help you in keeping your eyes from squinting.  That certainly could make your photophobia worse. Please re-consult your ophthalmologist or photophobia practitioner for advice and assistance.

Best,
