The cost of skull reshaping?

Q:

Hi. I wanted to know how much it would cost and how the procedure would work to fix a skull that slopes upward and makes a bump on top then falls very flat in the back. Similar to brachycephaly head shape. I need this procedure done to finally live a normal life. It has affected me so negatively it has stopped me from accomplishing my goals due to the constant bullying. Please help.

A:

Gloria,

Correction of Cranial or Skull boney contour irregularities can be very expensive. Often, a plastic surgeon & neurosurgeon are required. These are not minor procedures.

This type of procedure might be covered by some insurance carriers. Look for a CranioFacial Surgeon in your area and consider a consult to address your concerns.

 Best,
