This course provides an introduction to the biology of stem cells and potential applications in plastic surgery.  Fundamental concepts include types of stem cells, sources, functional aspects, and how they can be applied therapeutically. Current regulatory issues will also be addressed.  Time will be allotted for interactive discussion.

  • Discuss the different types of stem cells
  • Describe potential therapeutic applications of stem cells in plastic surgery
